My second evening session at Coronet. Went home first after the remarks, had a feed, wathed a few episodes of Simpsons then of up the hill. I was a bit apprehensive takin the snowboard as Coronets always an ice run. Conditions were good with clear skies and well groomed slopes that had hardly been touched all day.
The slopes were pretty empty so it was constant speed runs racing Adam. Each run, we were taking bigger risks. Did a few nice jumps and a few drop offs which felt pretty hairy. Went off the main M1 trail a few times and straightlined the beginners slope which was awesome. Me and Adam were absolutely screaming along past the beginners straightlining it.
Each run we were taking bigger risks on the edge of control the whole way down.
On one of my runs half way down, I caught an edge after a little jump that I hadnt seen in the bad light, I was absolutely maching it so I was in the air for a few seconds before I impacted. it was then a case of cartwheel after cartwheel getting air after all the little humps that the skiiers had formed. eventually I came to a halt dazed and confused to what had happened after crunching my head pretty hard on one of the rotations. It was an awesome wipeout and my best one to date, just wish it was filmed as it would of looked so spectacular.
After that mishap, I thought I should take it easy but I was still flying down the slope with loads of pace. Eventually called it a day and rally drove back down the hill to Queenstown which was good fun. Got back home and could hardly move my head asd my neck had stiffened up so much.
